Tersangka Perusak KEL masing melenggang Bebas

SUBULUSSALAM : LSM Wanagreen mendesak Polres Aceh Singkil segera melakukan penangkapan terhadap perusak Kawasan Ekosistem Leuser (KEL) di Kecamatan Rundeng sekitar 89 hektare lahan kelapa sawit milik pribadi karena berada di Kawasan Ekosistem Leuser di Wilayah Pemko Subulussalam.

Padahal Penetapan status tersangka illegal logging terhadap H Sudirman, warga Simpang Kiri, Kota Subulussalam oleh penyidik Polres Aceh Singkil itu sudah Bulan Mei tahun 2010.

Kawasan Ekosistem Leuser (KEL) di Kecamatan Rundeng Kota Subulussalam itu dirambah secara illegal dan tanpa aturan main yang sudah ditetapkan pemerintah, harus ditindak tegas tanpa pandang bulu

LSM Wanagreen juga mendukung, Mabes Polri harus menindak tegas dan menebas semua pelaku perambah hutan, kalau ternyata hutan lindung dirambah secara illegal, karena pelakunya tidak hanya sudah melanggar peraturan, tapi juga merusak ekosistem kehutanan.

Perusakah Kawasan KEL tersebut menggunakan alat berat, seperti buldozer untuk dijadikan perkebunan kelapa sawit sekitar 500 meter dari Desa Muara Batu-batu, Rundeng. Luas keseluruhan lahan yang dijadikan perkebunan kelapa sawit 200 Ha, dari luas tersebut 89 Ha diantaranya masuk dalam Kawasan Ekosistem Leuser.

Leuser National Park

Taman Nasional Gunung Leuser (TNGL), or normally called just “Leuser”, covers app. 1.094.692 Hectares. The main part of the park is in the province of Aceh, but the park stretches into North Sumatra in the regencies of Langkat, Karo and Dairi. Leuser is the last place on earth where elephants, rhinos, tigers, clouded leopards, and orangutans are found within one area. Leuser has two major river systems, two major volcanoes and three lakes. Coffee Gayo Product

Central Aceh Regent Ir Nasaruddin, MM specifically expressed gratitude to the Minister of Justice and Human Rights Patrialis Akbar, on a certificate of Geographical Indications for Coffee Gayo product. “Gayo People have long waited for this legal recognition to protect products in Coffee Gayo Gayo Highlands,” said Nasaruddin. When asked for his impression after drinking coffee Gayo, Minister Patrialis Akbar said the aroma and taste is typical. “Coffee has long been known,” he said, to stand Bener Meriah. On the stand the ministers were treated to a cup of coffee is mixed Gayo Shukri stand guard Thomas, who wore clothes patterned Kerawang Gayo.

Forest Friends winners start replanting the Sumatran Tiger habitat

A total of 106 hectares of area will be replanted with local tree species

PEKANBARU (30/03)— As the follow-up action from last year’s campaign organized by the youth initiative Forest Friends, 106 hectares of critical habitat of the Sumatran tiger is being replanted with local tree species. The first phase of replanting activities, covering 30 hectares, is taking place in Tesso Nilo National Park from 29 March to 30 June 2011.

Forest Friends is an initiative targeted at 18- to 25-year-old youths using social networking tools. Under the initiative, three youths each from Indonesia and Germany were selected after an intense weeks-long selection to compete for fans and gain support toward forest conservation through blogging. Through Forest Friends, which is also accessible on Facebook, the youths communicate and share their views via articles, video and photos. The blog competition took place from May to August 2010, as an integral part of WWF’s Year of Tiger Campaign 2010 aimed at doubling wild tiger numbers by 2022, the next Year of the Tiger. At the end of the competition the youths had successfully gained support for replanting more than 100 hectares of area. Continue reading

Warga Diminta Waspadai Cuaca Ekstrem

Cuaca ekstrem musim penghujan saat ini melanda kawasan Kota Subulussalam dan Kabupaten Aceh Singkil, sehingga membawa dampak bencana banjir dan longsor di berbagai tempat.

Mengingat cuaca ekstrem yang diprediksi masih akan berlangsung hingga Juni mendatang, Ketua LSM Wanagreen Suparta Sabtu (26/3), mengingatkan agar warga senantiasa waspada.

“Cuaca ekstrem bisa menyebabkan banjir dan longsor di sejumlah wilayah perbatasan Subulussalam dengan Pak-pak Bharat, Sumatera Utara, khususnya di kawasan Kampong Lae Ikan yang paling tinggi intensitas bencana tanah longsor di wilayah ini,” kata ketua LSM bidang lingkungan itu.

Tours in Tanah Gayo

Takengon – Loyang Mendale has now become the new visiting area in Central Aceh.Located at the End of the Coral this place is beautiful and cold. But not the natural charm of a magnetic decoy visitors, but early humans found here.

Residents who visit here are still many people around the Gayo. They come from Central Aceh, Bener Meriah, as well as from the rest of Aceh. ”We came to prove the truth of the news about archaeological sites here,” said Dedi, a resident of Banda Aceh.

In addition to local residents, is already there citizens of foreign countries who come here. Even two French citizens had even helped dig Mendale this ancient site.
